ZOMBI's 'Surface To Air' To Receive Vinyl Release

June 13, 2006

Hypertension Records has joined forces with Relapse to handle the worldwide vinyl release of "Surface To Air", the sophomore effort by ZOMBI. Expected late June, the LP will come in a limited number of colored vinyl in a deluxe packaging, giving the music and artwork all the attention it needs.

"Surface To Air" was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band over a five-month span at the duo's Nightmare City Mobile Studios and was released in May via Relapse.

Drawing influence from bands like GOBLIN, ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE and HAWKWIND to horror filmmakers Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci, ZOMBI's signature sound, achieved using only electric bass, drums, and analog synthesizers, results in a powerful work of eerie, relentless rhythms and futuristic scores.

After having toured the U.S. with ISIS, DĂ„LEK, RED SPAROWES, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and many others, the Philadelphia-based duo will be playing a select number of dates with ISIS and THRONES on European soil to support "Surface To Air" early summer 2006.
